Ranada Prasad Shaha established the Kumudini Welfare Trust of Bengal Ltd. in early forties with his dream, asset and organizational efforts to serve the mankind and to develop the human resources. In this regard primarily he preferred two sectors health and education. Simultaneously, he had set up various commercial ventures under the umbrella of Kumudini Welfare Trust of Bengal Ltd. to support his welfare activities. The objective is that the profit earned from the business wil be spent for the welfare activities. He had used his entire wealth to establish in remote village a hospital-bigger than any of the city hospital to provide free medical care. He had established an impressive institution Bharateswari Homes to promote education among women. Besides the above, there are lots of other health and educational institutions at home and abroad who received direct assistance from R.P. Shaha. Objectives: *Provide free medical care for rural people so that they can have a quality life. * Spread education among the mass specially for the under privileged girls. * Offer the scope of economic emancipation for the rural women to improve their status in the society give them opportunity to become the active members in their family. * Gear up environmental harmony. * Develop skilled manpower that can attribute towards economic uplift of the society. * Creating a peaceful society by promoting mutual tolerance and self reliance.
